At Valencian Photographic Holidays we run week long holidays for anyone interested in photography. It does not matter if you are a complete beginner or more experienced photographer, all you need is your camera and your passion, we'll do the rest. We specialise in small groups and one-to-one tuition so that all levels of ability are catered for.
Our objective is to help you take stunning photographs and continue to do so once you leave us and return home. We offer tuition on; learning how to control your camera, rather than it controlling you; the essentials of creating a great photograph and how to photograph it; how to use Adobe Photoshop in order to make a good image look great. Our emphasis is not so much on 'gear' but more on how you use it and develop your 'vision' too create the images that you want.
We are based outside the old Spanish town of Ontinyent, in the province of Valencia, Spain. Many photographic opportunities are just on the doorstep; rolling hills indented with the soft rays of the setting sun, trees bursting with luscious fruit and wild flowers delighting every sense. During the week we visit stunning locations, including a day in Valencia itself.
Ontinyent also offers a feast for the photographers' eye, literally humming with the influences of the many cultures that have left their mark. After a day trekking with the tripod what could be better than to sample the restaurants and cafes and indulge yourself with traditional Spanish tapas and wines. The medieval town of Bocairent with its caves and cobbled streets is just 15 minutes drive away.
We offer both single and shared accommodation with comfortable, light and airy rooms. There are plenty of cool areas to relax and enjoy your surroundings and a swimming pool to cool down in the summer months.
All our holidays include full board (with the exception of 3 evening meals), pick-up from and return to Alicante airport, all tuition, transport to all locations, handouts and two prints for you to take back home.
The holidays are run by Rodg Holden who has been passionate about photography for the past 25 years and has an extensive portfolio ranging from landscapes, portrait commissions and illustrative commercial work.
He has exhibited at several prestigious galleries in the UK, which captured press attention and his work has appeared in several photographic magazines and used on the covers of Spanish periodicals. In July 2006 he received a distinction from The Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain. After many years as a teacher and professional photographer Rodg knows exactly how to provide tuition in an informative and accessible way.
