I am about to commit financial suicide and exchange my Nikon kit for Canon. Before I do this and spend my hard earned cash on a 1DS, does anybody know if a new one is on its way?

Rumour mill says september for the announcement (at Photokina I think) then spring 2005 for release, let''s hope they are not as in short supply as the 1D MKII.
Specs are 16MP, full frame, low noise, faster frame rate & buffer higher ISO capability etc.....eat your heart out Nikon.....

BTW these rumours were more or less confirmed by Paul Pope at dpreview, who was testing a pre-production 1D MKII months before the official announcement of it. He is pretty reliable in these matters...

According to a very reliable Nikon source, Nikon will unveil a higher megapixel camera at Photokina but NOT Full frame so if that''s important to you then get your name on the waiting list for the improved 1Ds (16mp, low noise...) I''m trying to decide between a 1Ds and a Nikon-based Kodak Pro/n. Any suggestion here? Bearing in mind I have to buy new lenses in any case. Thanks!
