Billboard Picture Adverts

The job of Photographers.co.uk is very simple. It attracts people who are looking for a photographer and then sends them off to you the photographer. Based on the number of searches the site receives each month (long terms average of over 150,000 per month) Photographers.co.uk certainly does a great job of attracting people in.

Historically those searches have generated around 30,000 people clicking through to photographer's websites each month. I think that is a very good figure for a directory with around 2,000 photographers. That averages out at 15 visitors per photographer per month. Based on photographer feedback these are people who are serious about finding a photographer. One photographer who has tracked visitors from Photographers.co.uk found they were taking a very good look at his website, averaging 7.6 pages per visit.

Now with the introduction of Billboard Picture Adverts I believe the number of people clicking through can increase even further.

What is a Billboard Picture Advert?

Billboard Picture Adverts are large photographs that are shown at the top of pages in the directory.

The beauty of a picture advert is that it is an ideal way for you to showcase your work. It gives you an eye catching, opportunity to present your best work to potential clients. You can also add any text that you want to your advert.

All they need to do then is click on your photograph and they are taken directly to your website. From that point you are in full control of the process of converting them into becoming your customer.

I am not aware of any other place where you can place such a simple and potentially effective advert for your services.

Photos are displayed as a part of a slideshow, in random sequence. Random sequence gives everyone a fair chance to be seen first.

Where Will Your Picture Appear?

Adverts placed in the Photographer's Directory will appear on four pages. Taking a wedding photographer based in Guildford, Surrey as example your photograph would appear under the following searches:

  • The main Surrey Photographers page
  • The Surrey Wedding Photographers page
  • The Guildford, Surrey Photographers page
  • The Guildford, Surrey Wedding Photographer's page

You can also add extra pages.

What Size Are The Pictures?

The pictures are an attention grabbing 940 pixels wide by 380 pixels wide. You can choose whether to use a single photograph, to make up a composite image or to include text within the advert. The important point is to build an advert you feel has the best chance of making a potential client click through to your website.

The picture advert, listing, exhibition and feature are priced at £99.99 + vat per year.

What if You Already Have a Listing?

If you already have a listing then the amount you have paid will be taken off the price of the Billboard Picture Advert. The price will also be applied on a pro rata basis to take you up to your next renewal date.

For example if you already have a listing without an exhibition the price of the new advert will be reduced by the £29.99 + vat already paid. This reduces the fee to £70 + vat.

The simplest example of how the pro rata basis works is if there are exactly six months to your next renewal you would only need to pay for six months. This would reduce the fee by 50% making it £35 + vat.
