Wedding Photography How Much To Spend
Getting married is very expensive and nobody wants to spend more than they need. When it comes to wedding photography you do need to be realistic though. When you think of the dress, the cake, the cars and so many other special touches it is only your wedding photography that lasts for years afterwards.
As well as on the day itself a lot of work goes into producing the perfect set of photos. This work can start well in advance of your wedding and goes on beyond the big day itself. So while you are enjoying your honeymoon your photographer is likely to be working away to create your treasured album.
You may not realise it, but a truly professional photographer may spend many hours preparing for your wedding. This may include visiting the venue or venues before the day itself. This enables them to get a good feel for the venue. The photographer may also spend time working with whoever will be responsible for your wedding service and also the event manager where the reception will take place. Planning and preparation is very important. All of this contributes to your special day running as smoothly as possible.
A key part of the planning and preparation is also to agree with you the type of wedding photography you would like. A good photographer will be able to discuss any ideas and requirements you may have and to also make suggestions of their own.
On the day it is vital you have a photographer who is adept at organising the photos. Even with the move away from traditional, formal wedding photography there are still a number of key shots that are set up by the photographer. A skilled photographer will manage to take these photos with the minimum of fuss and as quickly as possible. This releases your guests and yourselves to focus on enjoying the day. The ability to organise the photography is a key skill that should not be overlooked.
In days gone by after the wedding the photographer developed the photographs, put them in an album and the job was done. Today you have far more choice as to how your wedding photography is presented. The choice of wedding books and albums can be mind boggling. Again this is an area where an experienced photographer can guide you and help you. The downside is that it takes a photographer far more time to create an album today. In the right hands though the results though can be truly stunning.
Other areas where you now have a far greater freedom of choice are in areas such as framing. You may also wish to consider having one or two photos reproduced on canvas.
With the Internet playing a larger role in people's lives an increasing number of photographers also offer online proofing. This allows you to view and select the photos you would like included in your album at your convenience and in the comfort of your own home.
As you can see there are so many factors that go into producing perfect wedding photography. Planning and preparation, organising the photos on the day and producing a stunning, modern wedding album, all of this helps to give you wedding photography you can treasure for years to come.
Taking a look around and seeing the prices wedding photographers charge it is very rare to see anyone quoting under £500. I wish I could say it is different, but it is not. Like any other product you get what you pay for. Obviously you should still look closely at the various services on offer. After all I am a big fan of value for money. Being realistic though I would be very careful when considering quotes under the £500 barrier, especially for a weekend wedding.
If your budget is between £600 and £1000 you will have a far wider choice of photographers. You should also find greater expertise, experience and quality within this price range.
Moving above the £1000 mark there are two additional factors that come into play. The first is the style of the photographer. Here you would expect that extra touch of class. There should be something distinctive about their work that sets them apart from others. They should be able to provide you with something unique and extra special that will help to create your own personal wedding style. On top of this you should be able to choose between some of the stunning wedding albums that have been introduced recently.
Wedding albums have moved on considerably in the last few years. As well as traditional wedding albums there are now coffee table style books and exciting albums that are so different to what was available just a short while ago. It is often these books and albums that can provide your wedding photos with a truly distinctive feel.
